Privacy Policy
PeaceLingo · Effective October 5, 2026 · Operated by Hwapyeong (Peace) Cho · Contact: [email protected]
PeaceLingo turns a recording into a written summary, translates it into your language, and emails it to you. This policy explains what we collect to do that, who processes it, how long we keep it, and your choices. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
What we collect
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your Apple or Google account identifier and the email address the provider verified | To sign you in, keep your notes on your account, and email notes only to you | Until you delete your account |
| Recordings you choose to process | To transcribe them | Deleted from our server as soon as processing finishes (normally within minutes). On your phone, you choose how long the app keeps the audio: until your notes arrive, 30 days (default), or until you delete it |
| Transcripts, summaries and translations | To deliver them to your apps and email | Deleted from our server when you delete the note, and in any case after 30 days. Copies stay on your devices and in your email until you delete them |
| Settings (translation language, email preference) | To apply them to every note | Until you delete your account |
| Usage (minutes processed per month) and subscription status from Apple or Google | To apply your plan's limits and confirm you are subscribed | Until you delete your account |
| Technical request logs (time, path, status, a request id) | Security and troubleshooting | Rotated automatically; at most 30 MB per service is kept and older entries are deleted |
We never receive your payment card details; Apple and Google handle payment.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers, each only for the purpose shown and under terms that bar them from using your data for their own purposes:
- Soniox (speech-to-text): receives the recording to transcribe it. Soniox does not use customer content to train its models; we delete each recording and transcript from Soniox right after processing.
- Groq (AI summaries and translations): receives the transcript text. Groq does not train on API inputs or outputs.
- Resend (email delivery): receives your email address and the note being sent.
- Apple and Google: sign-in and subscription payments, under their own privacy policies.
- Hetzner Online (Helsinki, Finland, EU): runs our server. Cloudflare serves the web app.
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate.
Recording other people
Many places require everyone being recorded to agree to it. You are responsible for telling the people you record and getting any consent the law requires before you record them. The app reminds you of this before your first recording and on the recording screen.
PeaceLingo records only when you tap record on your own device. It never joins online meetings on its own, and nobody's voice is used to train AI models, ours or our providers'.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account any time in the app (Settings › Delete account). This deletes your account, settings, usage, and any notes still on our server. Notes on your phone and in your email are yours to delete.
- Stop email delivery in Settings.
- Access, correction, or other requests: email [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the California CCPA, or Korea's Personal Information Protection Act) you may have additional rights, which we honor.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are stored in your device's secure storage. Our service keys are kept on our server and never shipped in the apps.
Children
PeaceLingo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
